Rogers keeps its name on Edmonton’s NHL home through 2036

Rogers Communications has extended its strategic partnership with OEG Sports & Entertainment (OEGSE) for a further 10 years, securing the telecommunications company’s naming rights to Rogers Place, home of the Edmonton Oilers, through 2036.

The renewal extends a relationship that began in 2013, when Rogers became the Oilers’ official telecommunications sponsor. Rogers Place opened in 2016 as the centrepiece of Edmonton’s ICE District and is marking its 10th anniversary this year.

The expanded agreement provides Rogers with continued naming rights and a wide range of branding, advertising and fan-engagement assets throughout the venue, including concourse, rink, in-ice, in-bowl and in-game placements.

The new agreement also introduces the Rogers Goal Cam, an interactive activation that will allow fans at Rogers Place to capture and share their reactions following Oilers goals. Rogers will additionally distribute more than 1,500 Oilers tickets to customers during the 2026-27 season, including 300 tickets for the September 29 home opener against the Vancouver Canucks.

Tony Staffieri, President and CEO, Rogers, said, “This long-term extension reflects the strength of our partnership with the Edmonton Oilers and the shared belief that hockey connects communities. We’re proud to celebrate 10 years of Rogers Place with Oilers fans, and to continue investing in unique experiences that bring fans and customers closer to the game.”

Hugh Weber, CEO, OEG Sports & Entertainment, added, “For the past decade, Rogers has shared our commitment to supporting and connecting communities across Oil Country and creating exceptional experiences for Oilers fans—both at Rogers Place and through the Sportsnet broadcast. As we celebrate 10 years of Rogers Place and ICE District, this long-term extension is a testament to the strength of our partnership, and we’re excited about what we can create for Oilers fans over the next decade.”

The agreement further consolidates Rogers’ position across the Canadian hockey ecosystem. Sportsnet holds the Oilers’ regional broadcast rights through 2035, while Rogers’ national NHL media rights run through the 2037-38 season.

For Rogers, the extension links its telecommunications, media, customer and experiential businesses to one of Canada’s most prominent hockey markets. For OEGSE, it provides another decade of association with a major Canadian corporate partner as Rogers Place continues to anchor Edmonton’s sports and entertainment landscape.
